Supporting and Promoting Mental Health in Out-of-School Time
June 30, 2021 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm
The National Center on Afterschool and Summer Enrichment (NCASE) has published a new brief, Supporting and Promoting Mental Health in Out-of-School Time, that highlights the crucial role that out-of-school-time (OST) programs play in supporting and promoting children’s healthy development, inclusive of mental health needs. These needs have grown and changed during the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic. Children, parents, and those in the OST workforce can benefit from mental health supports provided directly or indirectly in these environments.
During this webinar, you will be able to do the following:
- Explore the NCASE voices from the field brief, which shares research and information on the current mental health needs of school-age children, their families, and those who are part of the OST workforce.
- Learn about state and local initiatives that promote positive mental health and social-emotional development.
- Consider and share practices and resources to meet the demand for mental health supports at different levels.
