Strengthening the Out-of-School Time Workforce: A Guide to Developing Apprenticeships Webinar
May 19, 2022 @ 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Apprenticeships are gaining momentum in out-of-school time (OST) as an alternate career pathway that supports equity in the workforce while helping to address current challenges in recruiting and retaining program staff. Apprenticeships are industry-driven career pathways that combine classroom instruction, on-the-job training (i.e., paid work experience), and mentorship, generally leading to a nationally recognized credential or degree.
During this webinar, hosted by the National Center on Afterschool and Summer Enrichment (NCASE), you will be able to do the following:
- Explore a new planning guide designed to support Child Care and Development Fund (CCDF) lead agencies and partners as they work collaboratively to expand equitable career pathways for the OST workforce.
- Learn about and share examples of state and local apprenticeship initiatives and opportunities for the OST workforce.
- Gain an understanding of promising practices that can inform state, territory, and Tribal OST workforce apprenticeship initiatives.
