Implicit Bias

As human beings our brains develop biases that we use to navigate the world around us. Many times the biases that we carry can cloud our judgement and decision making without us being cognizant of it. These can have negative effects on ourselves and the people that we serve.

At the conclusion of the session, participants will be able to do the following:

• Demonstrate understanding of the difference between implicit and explicit bias
• Identify their own implicit biases in various conditions
• Develop strategies to work against bias as they appear in their personal and professional experience.
