Once again the Trump administration’s budget proposal has called for the complete elimination of the Nita M. Lowey 21st Century Community Learning Centers program, the principal federal funding stream for afterschool and summer learning programs. This would directly impact the lives of over 33,000 children and youth in over 150 communities across the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
Please join us and take two minutes to tell our representatives in Congress to stand up for Kentucky’s children, families, and afterschool options.
The threat is real, but it’s up to Congress to determine whether local afterschool and summer learning programs remain open or close their doors. If the 21st Century Community Learning Centers initiative is eliminated, many programs will not survive.
With your help, Congress has thrice rejected the proposed elimination and we can do it again. Take action now.
