Through the U.S. Department of Education (ED)\, the American Rescue Plan Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief Fund provides funds to states and school districts to help safely reopen and sustain the safe operation of schools and to address the impact of the coronavirus pandemic on the Nation’s students. SUMMARY:Tapping into ARP State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds to Support Afterschool and Summer Learning
DESCRIPTION:In addition to education and child care funds\, the American Rescue Plan that became law in March 2021 provides $350 billion for eligible state\, local\, territorial\, and Tribal governments to respond to the COVID-19 emergency and bring back jobs. Specifically\, there will be $8.45 billion available at the state level for afterschool and summer programs and $21.9 billion at the local level for afterschool and summer programs. With billions of funding coming down the pipeline\, we invite you to participate in a webinar to learn more about the allowable uses of funds\, how to plan at the state and local level\, and how the OST community can advocate for grants and contracts that support summer and afterschool programs.

DESCRIPTION:Join the New York Life Foundation and the Afterschool Alliance on Thursday\, January 14 at 2pm EST to learn more about the New York Life Foundation’s Aim High grant competition. The New York Life Foundation is seeking applications for $1\,350\,000 in grants to afterschool\, summer\, or expanded learning programs serving underserved middle-school youth. 26 awardees will be selected based on their ability to help youth transition successfully to ninth grade and the ways in which they are providing academic\, social\, and emotional supports to youth during the pandemic. Programs may apply to one of three grant categories – join our webinar to learn more about these grant categories and see which may be a good fit for you! Applications are due on February 1\, 2021 at 5pm EST
